Church on The Hill

Currently, the Rev. Fayrene T. Koroma, is the pastor. She graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. in May 1994 with a Master of Divinity degree in the Urban Ministry tract.  While at Wesley, she worked with the Academic Dean and faculty in establishing courses at the Seminary on Spiritual Gifts.  She holds a B.A. degree in Business Management from National Louis University in McLean, VA.  Also, as a junior - year abroad student at Schiller College, she studied International Marketing and Spanish in Madrid, Spain.

During her academic training at Wesley, she worked in several churches as Student Minister.  From January 1992 - May 1993, she worked at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. and received training in preaching, teaching, and Christian Education.  The church of the Presidents, the N.Y.A. Presbyterian church has a strong civic orientation with an emphasis on community outreach programs!  Rev. Koroma was especially excited to participate in its "Meals on Wheels" community outreach program.  She was also happy to gain knowledge of the late Dr. Peter Marshall who was not only pastor emeritus of the congregation, but a U.S. Senate Chaplain.  Her field education training also included service at Eldbrooke United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.

In November 1994, Rev. Koroma accepted the office of President of the "National Network of Christian Men & Women" (NNCMW), a professional National Networking Association.  By January 1995, she began the "Christian Fellowship," a prayer outreach for Congressional members and their staff at the Rayburn House Office Bldg., which developed into the Church on The Hill.  The first worship service of the Church on The Hill was conducted at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Largo, MD in November 1995!
